Hi everyone!
This blog is about music and what represents to me. So I have to say that music is very important to everyone, actually I think that it's an essential part in everybody's life, most people couldn't live without music and many people also dedicate part of their time to play instruments or sing, even dance. You can do all that with music and so much more. They are people who also dedicate professionally into music and make famous carrers of it.
Personally I see music as a way to express feelings, every letter and melody have a unique message for every person who listen to the song. To me music is a very beautiful art, full of diversity. They are different kinds of music wich you can chose to hear according to the ocassion. I for example like almost all kind of music, the only thing that matters is that every song makes me feel something.
I get my music from an internet program, this way I can search for the song I want to hear or the artist which I like. But for a long time I didn't have this program on my computer because with this it came a lot of virus.
I don't follow any singer or group at especial, but when I was a little girl I remember to love The Backstreet Boys and go crazy about them. This days I like a lot of different artists, I have to say that I like songs with english letters, may be because besides of the interpretation you have to translate the meaning of a different language.
I definitely think that music fill my life:)

Transantiago: better or worse?
Hi everyone!
This week I have to write about Transantiago, so I'm going to give my opinion about my experience because people has said a lot of bad things about Transantiago, including people who have never used this transport. So I don't want to be unfair with the system only because in the begginig didn't work like it supposed to do it.
Although I do have to say that it was really bad organized all the process of introducing this new public transport system, especially because it wasn't gradual and not all the people was informed about the new routes, bus stop and payment mode.
Personally I think I was able to get used to this system but I also think that the old routes were better, may be because they were more extensive and the buses got to more distant places.
But the good part of Transantiago is that some of the buses are more big and tbe payment mode is more efficient ,and also helpful and convenient to the bus driver, because before all the bus drivers had to recibe the payment. so it was a distraction to them. Also in the old system they were a lot of robberies.
So I believe that all the new things are difficult to accept but eventually we can see that everything has a good part.

A country I'd like to visit
Hi everyone!
First of all I have to say that there are many places which I would like to visit some day because I think that travelling is the best way to know different and diverse cultures.
But there is one place that I really want to visit from while ago. I always wanted to know Europe but specially Italy.
Some day when I was a little girl I dreamt that I was in Italy and in that dream I knew all kind of beautiful places. That's one reason, a little silly but I think it means something to me.
Another reason it's that many of my ancestors came from Italy, two of my grandfathers and people who I really didn't have the chance to knew. So I'm still have some curiosity about other parts of my family. Also I love Italian food, so It would be a good culinary experience.
In this hypothetical trip I would like to stay some time but I don't imagine living there forever.
I obviously would like to go with someone and that person has to be a good travelling partner, so we could enjoy this trip together.
I expect to this trip something soon, but in this moment I think that it's more important to me try to visit to one of my best friends who is in U.S.A.

FIRST TERM: good and bad
Hi everyone
This is the first blog of the second term and I think that as a way to start better this term it would be good to realize of the things I did wrong, so I could do it better and learn from that and also remember the good things about everything I experience in this few months.
I think that I really learnt from my teachers but also from my classmates. Probably I got all the knowledge and the important stuff related to my career from the teachers but I learnt something that I believe it's equally or more important, from my classmates and that it's generosity, kindness and commitment.
I believe that in the matter of classes, my favourite subject was Embryology. I think that I reflects the things I like about my career: the development of the human being and all the things we are capable to do from the very begginig.
About the free time activities I must say that I really get used to the university and all the people who is in it, so I have a really good time in my free time doing different and several things.

My blogging experience...
Hi everyone!
This is the last blog I'm writting for pre-intermediate english class and this blog it would be about my experience writting, guess what... the blogs.
I think I'll start saying that at first it was ok because in that time I thought that it will be good to practice. So that way I could improve my vocabulary and grammar.
And also...it wasn't difficult to write 150 words. In fact, the words wrote themselves.I think that it's because the subjects which we have to write about were easy... I mean they were subjects about the things you most like to do or memories with your family and friends...and all that are things you remember easily and tell spontaneously.
And also they were subjects like write about my career and that was very interesting because I had the opportunity to learn more about my career and realize about the things I like about it. I could tell about my experience of being in the university studing Obstetrics and all that it implies.
So, I could say that the first blogs were "fun" to write. Besides I develop the ability to write many words in one hour.
But (there is a but) in the last blogs I got really bored. I think that it's because the subjects were boring. I didn't know how to write them and it took me a lot of time to think how to start. I didn't feel encourage to write them.
I think that it'ld have been a good idea to do some blogs with free theme.
So that way we could have written about anything we want and do that with glad.
Apart from that I think I was a good experience to improve our english in this blogs of friday pre-intermediate english class.

Review *Do schools kill creativity?
First of all, I will start saying that the title for this conference given by Sir Ken Robinson is very suggestive because education like he mentions is a very important subject in everyone's life. A topic that worries to all people around the world.
And also it's a little controversial because it implies that education as we all know... the one it's given on schools and most of the educational establishments is killing a fundamental quality in all human beings: creativity. Wich is the base of every new idea and for consequence all the progress you can get from that.
As Sir Ken Robinson says all children are creative because they aren't afraid of go wrong or make mistakes. This is a valuable quality because it leaves you to original ideas that could be great achievments.
Another important point it's that all educational programs are exactly the same and they teach the same subjects like math, sciences and language so they don't give space to develop others skills.

My ideal Job
Hi everyone!
This is blog 10 and I have to write about my ideal job.
I think my ideal job would be any job wich relates with helping and supporting people with their difficulties and giving them solutions to feel better.
But the thing I like the most to work about is in the health's area, specially with my career: Obstetrics. I 'm very happy because I'm learning about the things I like and all that will help me to be a good professional in the future. So I think that my ideal job would be to work as the best midwife and that means to take serious at the patients, give them all the attention they need and care for their safety.
Also, I would like to work in Neonatology. I imagine my ideal job would be to have my own clinic and create a nice group of health's professionals to work with. The clinic would have everything that woman needs to have a good prenatal care, to feel good during the delivery process and after the birth, giving the best care to newborns.

My favourite subject!
Hi everyone!
I only had been in the university for 3 months but during this term mi favourite subject has been: Embriology.
I think it's beacuse is the class wich is more related to my career and the teachers are very commited to their work and that encouraged me to keep studing.
Embriology is part of a course of three units and it's the third one actually.
So it's very short. That is the sad part.
But I have the opportunity to learn from the best teachers.
One of them is Dra Mariana Rojas. She is my teacher on Thursday.
She also gave us a class of the development of limbs, which is my subject to do a research and report for this unit.
On Monday my teacher is Marcela Fuenzalida. She also is a very good teacher.
I hope I have more interesting and cool subjects on next term.

My life in five years...
Hi again!
I obviously don't know what I'll doing in five years from now.
If that was the case It'ld be a little boring because there would be no changes and surprises and everything would be expected.
But this isn't the case, so my ideal future could be anything I want.
I think what I want right now might change in a few years, but I'ld really like to be finishing my career, starting to work or keep studing and improving to be a better professional.
I also imagine that I'll have some money safe that It 'll be helpful to travel around the world and have a moment to relax and know some new people.
In five years, I'ld like to have my own house, my own rules and to be independent. Icould do anything I want.
I hope to be happy about my profession and to be with the people I love.

the best in my area
I can't say that this person inspired me to study Obstetrics because I only knew this person about 3 weeks ago.
But I could say that this person is someone to admire, like many of other teachers that I've known in this 3 last months (since I enter to the university).
This person is Mariana Rojas Rauco.
I know that many of my classmates chose her and I think it's because she has showed us in a very short time everything we have to learn about Embriology and as a future Obstetrician I think is a very important subject.
Also she is a very nice and warm person, she help us in everything we need to study.
She is a veterinary graduated form Universidad de Chile at 1975
She made her specialization in reproduction biology in Spain and actually she is part of the developmental biology and anatomy program and she is in charge of my course in the Embriology subject.

My career =)
Hi everyone!
This friday I have to write a new blog and today is about my career.
The reason I'm studing this career is really difficult to explain because before I finish highschool I've never imagine that I'd study Obstetrics.
It was really like an impulse of the moment, which I don't regret.
I think that the most atractive about the career is to see the birth of a new human being.
This moment is unic and it's the beggining of many process in a person's life.
Besides the medical tools tha I'll need in the future (obstetrical forceps, umbilical scissors) I think that the most important are the good treatment to the pacient and be always commited to the wellbeing of them.
Through this career I can involve in the care of an entire family, and help them to start this new phase
But the subject I most like about my career is Neonatology, I believe it's a beautiful job to work with newborns. They represent the future and all the goodness that we can give to our world. 143So that's why I belive that the contribution of midwifes is a long term because the first moments of a child's life can determine his whole development.

My favourite photograph
Hi everyone again!
This friday I'm going to write about the photograph I most like.
It is a difficult decision to choose only one picture because there are many significant and special moments that I keep in my memory through the photographs.
But I guess that one of the things I most miss rigth now is my friends because I can't see them so frecuently and for that the pictures are a reminder of the moments we shared.
The picture was taken by a school friend (in January, 2008) and in it are me and my closes friends.
At that moment we were in a really beautiful place in Bariloche , and the reason was a school travelling. We had a lot of fun and we knew many new places and met really nice persons.
This picture is special for me because although the things at this day are a little different , the important thing is that they are still my best friends.

This week I have to tell you about my favourite website, but not any website, just the one is related to my career and I choose this:

Although my website isn't related in a direct way with my career because it isn't a website where you can look for especific information and doesn't belong to a group of obstetrics websites. It sure is a website that provides me of university infomation and helps me to get in a fast and eficient way all the classes that I have in the different courses.
Also is a very good form to find out what is happening in every course and like that be able to comunicate with my teachers and classmates.
Through this website you can upload and download documents too. Me and my classmates use to share useful documents that we believe interesting and importants to complement the classes.
Besides all of this, I have to recognize that I found a little annoying the idea of arriving at my house everyday and having to check constantly this website but I guess that the benefits are greatest.

My favourite piece of technology
Hi everyone!
My favourite piece of technology is the photo camera because is an instrument that allows you to get pictures that show different perspectivs of the things you can see.
I got my first photo camera when I was little, but for along time I couldn't have one of my own because I had lost the first one and my parents didn't trust in me and they thought that I would lost it again.
I personally use my camera to capture important moments of my life . That way I can remember it most vividly and share the memmories with the people who is close to me.
For a while I used to use a lot my camera but right now not so much. I think I've lost the habbit.
I think that if the camera didn't exist or if it wasn't in my life, my memmories will be a little incomplete, because since I have remember my parents used to take me pictures, and for that the pictures are very important to keep in my mind the nice moments of my life in a more clear way.

This is who I am
My name is Camila Constanza Figueroa Trazar. I'm eighteen years old.
I was born in Santiago, Chile and all my life I have lived there.
My birthday is on September 16, 1990. I'm a Virgo.

I recently graduated from highschool and now I'm studing Obsterics in the Universidad de Chile.
I have no brothers and sisters, I'm an only child. But I live very near from my cousins. In fact we are neighbours so I've never felt like I don't have them.We are very close.
My father is a physics and math teacher and my mother isn't working right now but she is always doing something important and helping the others.
Both of them support me on everything I do and they are very happy because I enter to the best university.
Also my friends are always there for me and I really like spending time with them, that's why I'm a little sad for not having time to see them. All of them are vey busy studing, same as me, and one of my best friends is now living in U.S.A for two years.
Although here in the University there're really nice and cool people.
My favorite food is italian and the season I most like is spring because I can't live without sun but I hate the excesive heat.
I also love animals, especially dogs. I have two of my own.
Last summer I went with a group of people of my age (from different places of Chile) and some friends to a little town near Curicó to help people who live there. It was a very intense week and a really beautiful experience. I met some really nice people that I'll never forget.
Besides of that I enjoy singing in the shower, dancing with my friends, drawing with my little cousins and all the simple things but what I most enjoy is spending time with the people I love and living new experiences.
My favorite person is a person who doesn't judge or appears to be anything more that he is, a person who is sincere, loyal and strong about his convictions and mostly who is open to take risks.
Although here in the University there're really nice and cool people.
